This poster series develops a consistent promotional system for a repertory season while allowing each production to retain a distinct visual tone. The work addresses a common communication problem in arts promotion: how to create recognizability across multiple events without reducing each piece to a template. In response, the series uses a fixed structural framework—image-led composition on the left, informational panel on the right, and a stable hierarchy for venue and scheduling details—while varying photographic subject matter and tonal emphasis to reflect the character of each play.
The visual strategy depends on the interaction between dramatic black-and-white portraiture and disciplined typographic organization. Cropped, high-contrast photographic images establish mood and immediacy, while the right-hand panel organizes production information through clear scale shifts, weight contrast, and consistent alignment. The recurring Encore Theatre Company masthead functions as a unifying identifier across the set, and the restrained palette supports both legibility and atmosphere. As a body of work, the series demonstrates systems thinking, typographic control, and the ability to balance continuity with variation across related promotional artifacts.

Event poster using a weathered, character-driven portrait and strong value contrast to establish a more atmospheric and textured visual tone. The repeated alignment system and informational panel connect the piece to the larger season identity.
Event poster using an extreme close crop and stark tonal contrast to create psychological intensity. The large title and condensed information block organize production details within a stable right-side hierarchy.
Event poster pairing intimate portrait photography with a consistent branded layout to communicate the production’s emotional focus. Scale contrast in the title and supporting text preserves clarity while allowing the image to carry much of the expressive weight.
